Alfred Surgery and Stavanger University Hospital have received innovation funding from Helse Vest to expand the use of Alfred Surgery into gynaecology and further develop personalised surgical training.

Expanding into gynaecology

Following the introduction of Alfred Surgery in gastrointestinal surgery at Stavanger University Hospital, the platform will now be tested in a new surgical field: gynaecology.

The project will explore how structured digital training can support surgical residents across different specialties and learning needs.

More targeted and personalised training

As part of the project, Alfred Surgery will support structured training through different educational packages. Training data will be used to provide surgical residents with more targeted and personalised feedback on their development.

The project will further explore how digital tools can make surgical training more structured, measurable and tailored to individual learning needs.

For Alfred Surgery, the project marks an important next step in expanding the platform across surgical specialties and demonstrating how data-driven training can contribute to competence development and safer surgical practice.
